15th Dec. 2017.

END OF TERM UPDATE N0. 76

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Management and Staff of the school, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.  I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for your support for and contributions to the growth and development of the school in 2017.  Without you, there is no ‘us’.  I pray that your comings and goings in this festive season will be blessed by the Lord.  Amen.  We look forward to the coming year with greater hope and commitment to bring out the very best in our students.

YEAR TEN (10) STUDENTS

The students have been exposed to all categories of subjects during the first term.  They have been given forms which must be duly filled with your consent.  We implore you to look through their results before decisions are taken so that they do not choose subjects where they have difficulties.  The students will only cope with subjects that they are comfortable with.  We also encourage you to come with them upon resumption so that the Counsellor/Examination Officer can sit with you to give advice where necessary.

INTERNATIONAL PASSPORTS

All students in Year 12 who will be sitting for S.A.T. and I.E.L.T.S must bring along valid international passports.  They will not be allowed to register without them.  The passports should be valid at least till September, 2018.

FOOTWEAR

This is to remind parents of boarding students that the children are to resume with two pairs of black school shoes and 2 pairs of black or brown trekkers so that if there is damage to one, the other pair can be used while awaiting repair of the damaged ones.  Students will be checked on resumption and those who do not comply will be sent back.

COMPETITIONS

Some students have been chosen to receive rigorous training next term as they will be representing the school in various Science and Mathematics Competitions.  We encourage you to support them while they prepare at home.  Some questions have been given to them for practice during the break.  We will follow up with phone calls to know their levels of preparation.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF

The school has taken up the responsibility to make vacation and resumption of students easier for parents who reside in different regions.  However, we want to implore you to book flights between 9.00am and 2.00pm.  We may not be able to oblige those who have earlier or later flights than the stipulated time.

HAIRCUT/HAIRDRESSING

Boys are to resume with low and evenly cut hair while the girls must have neatly woven hair or low cut hair where applicable.  Students who do not obey will not be allowed to resume on Sunday 7th January for boarders and Monday 8th January, 2018 for day students.

LATENESS TO SCHOOL

It has been observed that some Day Students do not resume at 7.30am and as a result, do not attend school assemblies and other school activities.  This will no longer be tolerated.  Such students will be punished on a daily basis as they resume late.
