END OF TERM UPDATE N0. 88

Dear Parents,

The 3rd term 2021/2022 has come to a successful end. We give God all the glory for His abundant mercies and blessings. We value and appreciate the support we enjoyed from our parents during the school year. We also appreciate the children for display of excellence in all tasks set before them and for maintaining high levels of discipline. We pray that the Almighty God will continue to take us from glory to glory and also continue to provide for us all.

Although the school year is over, it is important for the students to keep up with their studies during the holidays. Parents are encouraged to engage the children in some form of academic activities during holidays.

2022 WASSCE AND NECO SSCE
The NECO SSCE commenced on 27th June and will be concluded on 11th August while we are still awaiting the result of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This development indicates that the outgoing Year 12 students will stay in school till 13th August, 2022 as they will have their prom on Friday 12th August and depart for home on Saturday 13th August.

BASIC 9 CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT
The result of the 2022 Cambridge Checkpoint Examination had been released. The school recorded 100% Credit – Distinction in English Language, 64.52% in Mathematics and 90.32% in Science. Overall 84.78% was achieved.

BASIC 9 (JS.3) EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
The National Examinations Council (NECO) BECE was written between 16th and 30th May 2022 while the Ogun state BECE commenced on 15th June and ended on 22nd June, 2022. Results for these examinations are being awaited.

2022 JAMB (UTME)

• The result of the 2022 JAMB (UTME) had been released and we thank God for the outcome of the examination. Forty-nine (49) students wrote the examination and the highest score was 293.
• 201 – 293-41 students
• Below 200-8 students
• With the 2022 cut off mark set at 140 by the JAMB, the school achieved 100% pass rate. We shall however, work harder at achieving higher scores as more than the sky is our limit.

EXTENSION CLASSES
The Year 12 students for the 2022/2023 academic session are expected to return to school for extension classes to put finishing touches to the preparations for the various forthcoming examinations on Sunday 14th August 2022. The classes are COMPULSORY for all Year 12 students. Registration for GCE or SSCE externally is strictly prohibited by the school.
Basic 9 and Year 12 students are to return to school with a ream of A4 (Photocopy) paper. All students are to return with their school note books.

SUPPLEMENTARY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Supplementary entrance examination into Basic 7, 8 and Year 10 will take place on Saturday 3rd September 2022. However, we can organize exams for candidates to write the entrance examination before 3rd September either on-site or online.

HAIRCUT/STYLES
All boys must return with low-cut even hair upon resumption while girls must have neatly woven hair and in the style announced before vacation (Hair extensions are not allowed). Strict adherence is advised as students will be sent back to do the needful if the need arises.

SCHOOL SHOES
This is to remind you that the children are to resume with two pairs of black low-heeled leather shoes and two pairs of black or brown trekkers for school. These will be checked on resumption day.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF AT THE LOCAL AIRPORT
This service attracts a token of five thousand (N5,000) only to cover logistics. However, we want to implore you to book flights between 9.00am and 2.00pm. We may not be able to oblige those who have earlier or later flights than the stipulated time. Parents who reside in Lagos can also pick up their wards at the airport.

PROVISIONS

• Parents are hereby reminded that the provisions items allowed are as listed below. Any other item will be classified as contraband.
• Two(2) 400g cans of powdered milk
• Two(2) 400g cans of beverages
• Two(2) 500g packs of cereals
• One(1) packet of sugar

Students are to resume with the following items

1. Mathematical set -1
2. Scientific Calculator-1
3. Boys - 6 pairs of white socks (Not ankle length)
4. Boys - 6 white singlets with short sleeves

TRAINERS
The first term is a sporting term and so it is imperative for all students to return with white or black trainers or a mixture of black and white. Other colours will not be allowed. These will be checked on resumption day.

HORSE RIDING
Students who are interested in horse riding are encouraged to bring a set of horse riding kit.

RELEASE OF STUDENTS
It has been observed that some parents request the release of their children from school at extremely inconvenient times. This is not beneficial to children and does not help the flow of knowledge. We will no longer release children during school periods except in extraneous circumstances e.g. health. You are encouraged to plan your programmes around the School’s calendar of events

ASSIGNMENTS
Assignments will be sent next week to last at least four weeks of the holidays for students in Basic 8, 9, and Year 11 classes.

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS
Both local and international educational field trips would be embarked on in the 2022/2023 academic session. We shall keep you updated as the plans, modalities and financial implications unfold.

SCHOOL FEES
We implore those who still have outstanding balances to make payments as students will not be allowed to resume without presentation of evidence of payment to enable us carry out our obligations as a school. It is imperative that school fees for all students are settled before resumption. The school will no longer be able to admit students into the school without evidence of payment for the term.
